Continuing the idea to show the garden’s development. I will include picture view or views of the garden from weekly photo(s), from various angles as I am able. I will, so far, only include the back garden as this is the garden in need of developing into a garden again.
It is approximately 24 metres (80ft) (revised) long and 9m (30ft) wide. There’s brick garage/store and wooden shed. With a greenhouse bottom end of garden which is over shadowed by next doors plum tree. There are flowering Cherry Tree and a Silver Birch Tree. With numerous shrubs. Aspect, north from the house.

Slow movement on the clearing of the garden. There’s a lot to do so it makes for hard to show the changes. Moving most of the containers from the garage wall has made for a better walk down the path until getting to the olive.

The Hebe has been cut back even more and it shows how thick the branches became and how much it’s spread. (Pic.2). Was spread right across the lawn, now a new area for planting. The containers on the garden are temporary while the garden is in development.

There’s been some development at the very bottom of the garden clearing away garden rubbish. Handy to have an electric garden shredder which was used quite a lot this last week with pruning that have been collecting over the months. Good as mulch so it ends up on the garden not in the garden waste bin.

Long view. looking more spring-like.
Hebe cut back more. Last years Zebra grass entwined! Littered with plant labels of plants now gone.
Pic 2. Almost at the bottom of the garden view to the house – new area for planting showing

One of the problems I have is the fact that the garden is looking uniform, overly straight lined so, need some softening especially along the garage wall. I’ve got a few ideas for this but I don’t think I’m going to be doing too much this year. From the house end view, (pic 1), I need to concentrate more on the left hand side and on the bottom of the garden so it doesn’t become a problem later like it has for many years.
