November already, I can’t believe it.We have had sunny days this week, so I went for a walk along the river and Attenborough Nature Reserve on Wednesday. Brilliant few hours out in the fresh air. Fog and frost have now descended upon us here in Nottingham. I’ve been busy from time to time sorting out pots for the many Tulips bulbs and finding places to plant Narcissus too. The soil is wet but a bit of grit in the soil helps with drainage although the soil is of the light sandy type. Well, to the matter at hand Six on Saturday…..

1) The Last of the Acer palmatum leaves. the final hurrah from this Acer. it have put on a spectacular show this year. It’s been very impressive since break bud in the Spring. Look forward to more of the same. It’s fave of mine.

2) Spirea, Bridal Wreath. Here the spirea giving a final farewell to the year with some yellow leaves. Looks better when seen from afar than this image shows. A welcome sight though.

3) Lonicera nitidia. Continues to give bright ever changing leaf colour. In need of some shaping but that will happen in due coarse.

4) Tulips Merther Collection. These are some of the many tulips I have planted this year. I’ve lost count but it will be hundreds. Should be a good show of blooms in the Spring. Got another 40 to plant!

5) Unknown tall growing leaf. What is this, I spotted when I was taking a look at the Forsythia. I’ve not planted anything here it’s too condensed with root. Dear I leave it and see what it turns out to be?

A questionable plant

6) Nerine Bowdenii. This the last of the Nerines for this year. I have been so happy this flowered this year, for a few reasons. However, I have been seeing Nerines flowering in a garden up the road, they are in magazines, they just seem to pop up all over the place. Fantastic to have such flower like this in bloom September into November.
