Yes, it’s a terrible mess that is this garden. Just looking at the pictures makes me want to run away from this awful tangle of dead decaying former summer growth. It’s shamefully wrong to leave a garden in such a state.

There’s plenty of work to be done and this is a small area of the garden near the house, so add the rest of the garden and there’s many weeks of work.

Now for something different

Okay, on a lighter note, this is what I found lurking below the awful mess.

  • Hellebore

The flowers are quite large too so something good is happening. There’s another colour there too, in the same patch of ground where they’ve always been. The flowers are in various stages of bud so not long for a good sight of colour and brightness in this dreary messy awful garden.
